Back from holidays and the weather is so goth

Hello all. I was away on summer holidays in Greece where I got a lot of sun (so un-goth I know) and I did a lot of snorkeling which I loved, saw my friends and family etc., and in general I had a great time.

I got almost sunburned the first week because I have a very fair skin and I used a 20 sunscreen only, which was not a good idea, so then I got a 50+ and my skin was saved. C'mon give me some goth points for that :)

Anyway, I want to share my short clothing tip of the summer with you, especially for you that thinking of traveling in a very warm country like Greece for your holidays. I'm from Athens and I know how impossibly hot it gets there so I wanted to find something elegant, goth and light, to help me look nice during my time there. I knew I wanted a dress of some sort and... yes I found it.

This is an amazing dress from the Sweden rock e-shop and you can find it here: http://www.swedenrock-online.se/innocent-khorion-klaenning/art_247589/
I'm not affiliated in any way with this store. I just wanted to say that it was exactly what I needed. I was wearing it almost every day (yes yes washing it often of course) paired with my Dr.Marten boots. It is comfy, light and goth!
Perfect for darklings who want to travel to hot summer destinations!

You don't need to get the exact dress of course, but my advice is to look for something in that direction. Looks great as is or you can also match it with a pair of black leggings (short or long ones).

Enjoy your summer style and stay goth!

In a different country

Yes I like the darkness and the goth culture but right now I'm so happy that I'm in my sunny home country (Greece) for a few days.

I haven't realized it untill I moved to Sweden that I (well "we" I guess) need the sun. It's vitamin D, our body needs it.

Today was my first day in Athens since New Years and I had a few things to take care. I had to go to the bank etc, so I wanted to be somewhat well dressed.

Of course in black. Always in black. So the outfit of the day was the following:

My dr.Martens, my black pair of jeans, my cool black with red stars belt, my black shirt (3/4 sleeves length) and in general it was a grown-up, casual, toned down goth outfit.

Here is my belt and my jeans (yes I'm using the same picture from my previous post :) )
And these are my Martens boots

And on top I was wearing my beautiful Mango black trench coat. It was one of the few days that I looked nice, a nice young lady :P

Now I'm in the family house, chilling in the sofa watching TV. It's a slow day today but I have many days ahead of me. I'm hoping for a nice goth clubbing night. I'll definatelly post some pictures if that happens.

I wish I weren't that tired and I could write more but it's time for me to go to bed.

Stay goth everyone!

Gothic clothing for men styles tips and where to buy

I will write another post dedicated to men and where to buy gothic clothing items, since I get the feeling that there are more information about women out there and less about men.

---- Update --- I decided to update this post since many of the links don't work any more and because there are more awesome things I'd like to include here. I hope you'll enjoy it -----

So I sometimes browse gothic clothes for men in order to get ideas for my fiance. So here is what I found today.

I have no affiliation with these stores, I just browser stuff and I share them with you :)

Shirts and T-shirts for men

This e-shop is an interesting one. It's called Spiraldirect and it has clothes for both men and women but it seems that there are more items for men. Woohoo! Their clothes have mostly gothic and fantasy patterns on them and they are awesome.

Here are a few examples of shirts of all kinds with cool designs on them:
Find it here: http://www.spiraldirect.com/mens/dragon-heritage-t-shirt-black.htm

Sleeveless shirt with same design as above which has the same dragon/demon design in the back as well. Find it here: http://www.spiraldirect.com/mens/dragon-heritage-sleeveless-stone-washed-worker-black.htm
How about this Viking featuring shirt?

If you like tribal patterns then take a look at this:

If you don't like big patterns or designs and you are more of a low profile guy but still like going into goth/ebm clubs and look cool here are some great shirts for you:

And why not this one:

Lets look for some pants for our goth men, shall we?

I probably have written again about x-tra-x. Well it's a great store with very good prices, so why not?

Here is a simple pair of pants. My advice is that if you are going to wear a heavy shirt, heavy as in with a lot of patterns, or a big stamp like the ones above, go for a simple pair of pants otherwise the whole outfit will look too heavy and busy.

Something like this should be fine:

This one can work too:
Find it here: http://www.x-tra-x.de/clothes-male/pants-mens-skirts/hose-spiderweb-star-2334.html

However, you can have a simple black shirt or t-shirt, with no patterns or stamps and you can go crazy with the pants.
Like this:

Or this:

And these are my suggestions for today. I hope you enjoyed them.

Of course there are plenty more clothes and styles to experiment with and I definitely plan on making more posts like this with different outfits.

So stay tuned and stay goth!
X.

Gothic style tips: accessories

How do you spice up a dull, boring day at the office, style-wise?

Well the answer is: Accessories.

Many jobs have a dress code, and well, even if there is not an official dress code, many Goths have to dress down at work.

It’s not always the case that you might have an open minded boss, or co-workers for that matter, so unfortunately, your wardrobe might have to be compromised.

Truth be told, sometimes even myself, whenever I get ready for a first-time meeting with a customer, I dress down a bit. I try and look a bit more serious and professional. And it’s ok.

But that doesn’t mean you have to completely give up your style. So what do you do?

Same thing as I do. Keep your Goth accessories on.

I might wear a simple pair of jeans and a black shirt along with a black cardigan (yes well, all of my clothes are black) but I do keep my favourite skulls ring on, and I paint my nails black.

Here you can see some of my Goth accessories.

As you see, I have a pair of small skull earrings, a skull ring, a ring with a Diablo-like figure, a black ring which was gift from a girl at work, a necklace made from small black beads and of course, my black nail polish.

And that’s only a few of them. There so many choices of goth accessories out there that can transform an outfit completely.

As my boyfriend keeps telling me “ it’s all in the details”. And no, he is not talking about fashion, he has no clue, but he uses that expression a lot, for various subjects.

How about you? Do you manage to keep your gothic style intact at work, or do you have to compromise a bit?

Goth tip of the day

There are some days that you just can't find what to wear!
(Unless you are one of our customers and have picked your cool t-shirts from gothicfashion, but that's a different story).

Even though you might have many t-shirts, pants or skirts, some days it's a fact, nothing fits right.
So what do you do?

Well, don't panic. Just pick something that you know you will feel comfortable, yes even your training pants, and transform it with a nice goth hair clip, or necklase, your favourite goth ring, yes don't be afraid, and for the boys, just put on that cool armband that you save for the clubnights, or your evil, goth watch.

And there you have it.
It's the simple details that make the difference.

Just be innovative, be cool and above all different ;)

Cheers
