Goths going to school need a cool bag

I'm 33 years old and I go to school... again!!

Let me explain. I have finished school in my home country (Greece), and I have a degree and a master but now that I'm living in Sweden, well, I need to learn swedish, so here I am in a classroom again. I have been studying for a while, but I took a break, and now I'm back again.

Small note: I don't have to say how important it is to learn the language of the country you live in. Without it, you just can't function.

Being at school is nice, it's the homework that sucks (the teen inside me awakes).

But anyway, here is the bag that I decided it's appropriate for me!! :)
ebm style messenger bag

It's from my little gothicfashion.se. I wanted it to say SIMPLY E.B.M., because it's simple. It's E.B.M., my default choice of music!

I live in a small city, and I'm almost confident that there is not many people here that know what E.B.M means (if I had to guess I would say 10 people, in a city of approximately 16000). I might be exaggerating but that's how I feel.

But this also means that I get to carry by myself all the coolness that there is around here 8)

Gothic house decor and accessories quest

I have been thinking a lot about the house decoration. I'm in the mood for some changes.

I mostly prefer modern things, and I'm not really into the whole medieval, old castle house decor. Not because I don't like it. I do. But I wouldn't want it for for my everyday life.

I prefer  modern things. Our living room is a high-tech and gadgets paradise,  at least for me.  We have an Xbox, a PS3, my bf has a killer sound system, a Boxee, a 42" inch screen and a projector. I should take pictures. I'll do that and I'll make another post soon.

We have also put a black - almost shiny - wallpaper behind the area where all the electronics are, so yeah, it looks pretty cool.

I'm more of an EBM person, so is the bf, so there you go.

However, I do appreciate a few medieval, gothic decor items and there are some stuff that I really like and I think that the kitchen could use some medieval atmosphere. Luckily, we have a big kitchen with a big old wooden table in the middle, with 6 chairs, and a big wooden furniture with all the wine glasses etc.

So, to begin with, I have in my ebay radar gargoyles statues like this or this. They should be just perfect on top of the wine glasses furniture.

The kitchen table could use a black table runner cloth like this (that is also on my ebay radar).

I have been also looking for some black kitchen paper. You know, the big rolls that are like toilet paper, just bigger. But black. Or with some prints. I was even searching on Halloween items, but no luck. And I have searched in so many places. Any tips guys?

Butt looking for kitchen paper, even toilet paper, I came across this little guy:

source: Amazon -Skeleton Toilet Paper Holder

Cute, right? Well this is not a kitchen item, but since I found it and I like it, I decided to include it as well.

And another thing that is on my radar, is a gothic dragon bowl - which would be perfect for fruits -  and I found on a store near by. I should go and get it while it still there, otherwise I will regret it for life.

I couldn't find the exact item online, but here is something similar:

source: Toxic Realm

The above, combined with the dark wood furniture of the kitchen will definitely give a darker atmosphere to the kitchen.

Now, the only thing that is missing is the evil necessity of money.

So, how does your kitchen look like? And if it's not there yet, how do you imagine it to be? Are you a modern or an old gothic style person?

Friday night and a fine ale

Since I would have the evening to myself today, I decided to treat myself a bit.

NCIS episodes, popcorn and a fine British ale.

I hope everyone is having a Gothtastic evening, along with some fine alcoholic beverages.

The cool Goth Scientist Abby Sciuto, in other words I got nostalgic

I'm watching NCIS and I'm not ashamed to say - even if I'm not a teenager any more - that Abby Sciuto is one reason that I'm enjoying this series.

And yes I get nostalgic because I used to dress like she does on the show (except from the collars).

I used to wear more often short skirts (not uber short, normal short) and funky goth t-shirts and I looked cute and all.

But I have a "problem". I look young for my age, and dressing like that makes me look even younger. Which is not a real problem, but, well it is a bit, when it comes to work.

So, of course I do dress goth, and wear black and wear gothic accessories, but I try to look more "grown up".

I'm not that successful always. But anyway, here are some Abby moments.

The Retrosic - Ground Zero song on the Dictator film. Blast from the past EBM

So last night, me and my boyfriend decided to watch The Dictator.

And so we put it to play and on the very first minute of the film, the music started to playing and I felt as if electricity passed through me.

I have to tell you something. When I know my music, I know my music. And when I remember something, I'm 110% that I'm correct.

So as the filmed started and the music started to play, I immediatelly recognized the background music. Damn, I had it as a ringtone back in 2006-2007 or something. Which is a long time, and probably why I couldn't remember the name of the band nor the song.

Quite embarrasing, I know. But it was one of those moments that you really do know something, but your brain is stuck.

"What to do, what to do, I have to find it!" it, I said to myself. So then I went into my last.fm profile :)

And yes, victory!

The Retrosic - Ground Zero

And now I have it as a ringtone again! :)

--EDIT--

After some Youtube-ing, I found out this song, which is the actual one that is used on the movie. But it's obvious from where they got the idea ;) Well, it's not the first time that an awesome EBM or Industrial or any other cool song has been coppied into something pop. They have done that millions of times with Greek songs (trust me, I'm Greek and I know)

Gothic workout outfits - in other words, holidays are over

Hello everyone!

I'm officially back from my holidays! I enjoyed this summer a lot actually. My and my bf visited my home country, Greece, went to a friend in France for a few days and then we did small trips here in Sweden.

So, what do I have now, besides some amazing pictures and memories? Well, extra kilos.
Sad but true.

So, no more excuses. I have been working out almost daily and I keep on doing so, even if the weather doesn't allow it. If you live in Sweden, you know what I mean.
By work out, I mean going out for powerwalks. It's a nice exercise, even though I'm seriously thinking of either going to the gym, or even going to the swimming pool. I used to go swimming when I was a kid, and a bit older, and I love it.

Of course even when I work out, I don't want to miss my Gothic style. I do wear my black clothes of course, and I have bought a pair of training leggins (kind of necessary because they are comfy and good for letting the skin breath).

But I'm going to give you some tips of what to wear when you want to go training (gym, park, wherever) and keep your awesome dark, goth, ebm style!

Here is a Polyvore set I made, for girls.

Black - Gothic workout clothes

As you see, I have included traditional athletics clothes, but if you combine them with a pair of cool socks, the outfit instantly changes. Or you can wear a nice bats and webs pair of leggings with a simple, comfy, cotton shirt and there you have it again.

I also have my nails painted black so that gives also an extra gothiness touch.

The above are just suggestions of course. You can improvise and make your own dark-inspired work out outfit.

Not knowing what to wear

I hate days like these.
I don't know what to wear. Yes I have clothes in my closet, some look very nice on me, but why is it that I don't know what to wear? I feel awkward in whatever I choose to put on me.
It's days like these that I browse webshops (mostly gothic oriented ones, and if it's not gothic clothes, I go to the black colours instnatly) and I'm most of the times broke.

Ah, it will pass. I'll blame it on the Sunday's anxiety combined with no Diablo 3 servers being available for me to play!

Happy gothic Sunday evening everyone.

Who is going to play Diablo III ?

ME ME ME!!

I have been playing Skyrim for some time and it's awesome.

But what can compare with Diablo 3? I mean, it's Blizzard we are talking about.

Blizzard knows how to make games. Period.

Blizzard knows how to create a hype.

I don't care. This is the perfect reason to say "shut up and take my money".

Are you going to play Diablo? Are you going to forget the outside world to burn in Diablo's Hell?

I say HELL YEAH!

And here are my recent Diablo babies:

The weather has mood swings and some gothic outfit tips

So spring was coming and I was ready to do a cleaning.

Out with the winter black clothes, in with the spring black clothes.

But now, apparently the winter up here (Sweden) is like a rebelious teenager goth (well, a rebelious teenager whatever. Actually, teenage goths might be calmer that other types. Oh, look at me, generalizing again.)

It has been so nice and sunny and kind of warm. I know, I know, sun doesn't go well with the "dark" people, hehe, but it's not me, it's the lack of happy hormones that ask for some Vitamine D.

So it actually felt as if spring was here. But no! This weekend everything went crazy and ...it snowed! Yes it did. There is still snow outside. It's that cold that it hasn't melted yet.

Well, the upside is that I still get to wear my killer black coat. What coat you ask? Well, sadly it's out of stock from the site I bought it so I can't link it, but that won't stop me from posting similar style coats.

Oh and I do love them!

Enjoy!
