How do you
spice up a dull, boring day at the office, style-wise?
Well the
answer is: Accessories.
Many jobs
have a dress code, and well, even if there is not an official dress code, many
Goths have to dress down at work.
It’s not
always the case that you might have an open minded boss, or co-workers for that
matter, so unfortunately, your wardrobe might have to be compromised.
Truth be
told, sometimes even myself, whenever I get ready for a first-time meeting with
a customer, I dress down a bit. I try and look a bit more serious and professional.
And it’s ok.
But that
doesn’t mean you have to completely give up your style. So what do you do?
Same thing
as I do. Keep your Goth accessories on.
I might
wear a simple pair of jeans and a black shirt along with a black cardigan (yes
well, all of my clothes are black) but I do keep my favourite skulls ring on,
and I paint my nails black.
Here you
can see some of my Goth accessories.
As you see,
I have a pair of small skull earrings, a skull ring, a ring with a Diablo-like
figure, a black ring which was gift from a girl at work, a necklace made from small
black beads and of course, my black nail polish.
And that’s
only a few of them. There so many choices of goth accessories out there that
can transform an outfit completely.
As my
boyfriend keeps telling me “ it’s all in the details”. And no, he is not
talking about fashion, he has no clue, but he uses that expression a lot, for
various subjects.
How about
you? Do you manage to keep your gothic style intact at work, or do you have to
compromise a bit?
